the short short story

Words have a certain beauty about them. It doesn't take a three-hundred page novel or sixty stanza poem to convey that beauty. Using no more than a paragraph, one can conjure the same power as a book, and require the reader to use just as much, if not more, imagination.

This is not a new literary genre but it is relatively unknown. Most of these are original short short stories. Those that are not are credited otherwise. When I think of new ones I write them.

I've included a lot of poetry and songwriting as well, especially recently. I hope you enjoy it all.

Baptism, a song

[a song I wrote, summer 2014]

far hill crested gives photon baptism
I am baby
hear me, heal me
ocean waters pour out from my eyes
eyes are quarks, vibrations never die
sunrise
red light
closed-eye images
I see sounds and I see their colors
sound of water, electric blue to me
bathe my face in massless water
feel like Reed, cool by the river's edge
move my limbs, blood is the rhythm
feel my heart
faster, faster
feel my heart faster faster
feelmyheartfasterfaster

beads of water take mass on the green church
I am dewdrop
sunlight shine through me
Numen Lumen
electric rhythm
move my ions, change my thinking
leaving beta, theta approaching me
unite the mind
gamma flow through me
feel its pulse
faster, faster
feel its pulse faster faster
feelitspulsefasterfaster

I saw the Sol today
I know my name today
I saw the Sol today
I know my name today
I found my Sol today
